More than 50 bulls killed in PamplonaFriday, July 14th 2017
The San Fermin festivities in the Spanish city of Pamplona end this year with more than 50 dead bulls that were killed during cruel bullfights. For 8 days, runs with bulls (6 daily) were held in Pamplona. The bulls were killed in the evening. In total, 48 bulls started their last day with a lot of stress, running through a screaming mass of people.

Just a day before the start of the running of the bulls in Pamplona, a protest against the cruel runs was held in the capital of The Netherlands: Amsterdam. During eight days, every morning a bullrun with 6 bulls will take place in Pamplona. The bullruns are seen as innocent entertainment, bus this is far from true: the bulls run to the bullring, where they will be killed in a bullfight on the same day.

The most important bullring of Spain, Las Ventas in Madrid, will close its doors temporarily this summer, during the bullfighting season. It is unknown for how long. The city council of the Spanish capital has decided to carry out construction work to improve the security of the building.

The end of bullfighting in Mallorca is getting closer and closer. The political parties in the government of the Spanish state of the Balearic Islands (PSIB, Més per Mallorca and Podemos) reached an agreement. There is a bill for a new animal protection law that imposes conditions on how bullfights should be carried out. These conditions make it impossible to organize a bullfight.

On Saturday May 13 an impressive and huge protest against bullfighting took place in the Spanish capital of Madrid. The protest could count on the participation of 80,000 individuals. CAS International travelled to Madrid to join this protest and stand up for the bulls and horses that are victims of the bullfighting sector.
